وَعَنْ سَمُرَةَ بْنِ فَاتَكٍ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - قَالَ : " نِعْمَ الْفَتَى سَمُرَةُ لَوْ أَخَذَ مَنْ لِمَّتِهِ وَشَمَّرَ مِنْ مِئْزَرِهِ " . فَفَعَلَ ذَلِكَ سَمُرَةُ أَخَذَ مَنْ لِمَّتِهِ وَشَمَّرَ مِنْ مِئْزَرِهِ .
رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ عَنْ شَيْخِهِ يَعْمُرَ بْنِ بِشْرٍ ، وَيُقَالُ : مَشَايِخُ أَحْمَدَ كُلُّهُمْ ثِقَاتٌ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِ ثِقَاتٌ .
رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ عَنْ شَيْخِهِ يَعْمُرَ بْنِ بِشْرٍ ، وَيُقَالُ : مَشَايِخُ أَحْمَدَ كُلُّهُمْ ثِقَاتٌ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِ ثِقَاتٌ .
Sayyiduna Samurah bin Fatik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "What a fine young man Samurah is, if only he would shorten his hair and raise his waist-wrapper."
(The narrator says:) So Sayyiduna Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) did just that: he had his hair cut, and he used to keep his waist-wrapper raised.
Ahmad recorded it from his teacher Ya'mur bin Bishr. It has been said that all of Ahmad's teachers are thiqat (trustworthy); the remaining narrators of this report are thiqat (trustworthy).
