Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 8477

Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade looking into the stars (that is, learning astrology or being involved with it).
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat. Its chain contains Uqbah bin Abdullah al-Asamm, who is da'if (weak). It is mentioned from Imam Ahmad that he declared him trustworthy, and Abu Hatim regarded this hadith from this narrator as munkar (objectionable).
