عَنْ عَلِيٍّ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " يَا عَلِيُّ أَسْبِغِ الْوُضُوءَ وَإِنْ شَقَّ عَلَيْكَ ، وَلَا تَأْكُلِ الصَّدَقَةَ ، وَلَا تُنْزِ الْحُمُرَ عَلَى الْخَيْلِ ، وَلَا تُجَالِسْ أَصْحَابَ النُّجُومِ " .
قُلْتُ : رَوَى أَبُو دَاوُدَ وَالنَّسَائِيُّ مِنْهُ : إِنْزَاءُ الْحُمُرِ عَلَى الْخَيْلِ .
رَوَاهُ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ ، وَفِيهِ هَارُونُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ صَاحِبُ الْحِنَّاءِ ، لَيَّنَهُ أَبُو حَاتِمٍ ، وَوَثَّقَهُ الْحَاكِمُ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِ ثِقَاتٌ .

Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Ali! Perform ablution thoroughly, even if it is hard on you; do not eat charity (sadaqah); do not have donkeys mate with horses; and do not sit with the astrologers." (Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: Abu Dawud and al-Nasa'i (may Allah have mercy on them) recorded from it the part about mating donkeys with horses.
Abdullah bin Ahmad recorded it. Its chain contains Harun bin Muslim, the henna seller (Sahib al-Hinna'); Abu Hatim declared him weak and al-Hakim declared him thiqah (trustworthy). The remaining narrators of this report are thiqat (trustworthy).
