Sayyiduna Ubadah bin al-Samit (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) to visit him in his illness, and Allah knows best how severe the pain he had was. Then I came to him in the evening, and he had fully recovered. I said: I came to you in the morning and you were in such pain that Allah knows its severity, and I have come to you in the evening and you have recovered. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Ibn al-Samit, Jibril performed ruqyah on me, by which I recovered. Shall I not teach you those words?" I said: Yes, indeed! The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: (that is, he recited these words:) "Seeking blessing by the name of Allah Almighty, I perform ruqyah on you against whatever harms you, and against the envy of every envier, and against every evil eye." [The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:] "And take the name of Allah (or say Bismillah), and He will heal you."
Ahmad recorded it. Its chain contains a narrator, Sulayman, a man from the people of Sham; no one has declared him da'if (weak), and the remaining narrators of this report are the narrators of the Sahih.
