Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 8410

Sayyiduna Sahl bin Harithah al-Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Some people complained to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that they lived in a house where their numbers had at first been many, and then they became few. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Why did you not leave it? It is blameworthy."
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it. Its chain contains Ya'qub bin Humayd bin Kasib, whom Ibn Hibban and others declared thiqah (trustworthy), while a group graded him da'if (weak).
