Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Some people came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: "A companion of ours has fallen ill; shall we cauterise him?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) remained silent for a while, then he said: "If you wish, cauterise him, and if you wish, apply heated stones to him."
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it, and its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy), except that Abu Ubaydah did not hear from his father (Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud, may Allah be pleased with him).
