وَعَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ :
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - كَانَ إِذَا اكْتَحَلَ جَعَلَ فِي الْعَيْنِ الْيُمْنَى ثَلَاثًا ، وَفِي الْعَيْنِ الْيُسْرَى مِرْوَدَيْنِ ، فَجَعَلَهَا وِتْرًا .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ وَالْأَوْسَطِ ، وَالْبَزَّارُ ، وَفِيهِ عُقْبَةُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ .

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) applied kohl, he would apply it three times in the right eye and twice in the left eye; thus he made it an odd number.
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir and al-Mu'jam al-Awsat, and al-Bazzar also recorded it. Its chain contains a narrator, Uqbah bin Ali, and he is da'if (weak).
