عَنْ سَمُرَةَ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - :
" إِنَّ لِلشَّيْطَانِ كُحْلًا وَلَعُوقًا ، فَإِذَا كَحَّلَ الْإِنْسَانُ مِنْ كُحْلِهِ شَغَلَهُ عَنِ الصَّلَاةِ ، وَإِذَا لَعِقَهُ مِنْ لَعْوَقِهِ ذَرِبَ لِسَانُهُ فِي الشَّرِّ " .
رَوَاهُ الْبَزَّارُ بِإِسْنَادَيْنِ ، وَرِجَالُ أَحَدِهِمَا رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ ، خَلَا سَعِيدَ بْنَ بَشِيرٍ ، وَقَدْ وَثَّقَهُ شُعْبَةُ وَغَيْرُهُ ، وَضَعَّفَهُ ابْنُ مَعِينٍ وَغَيْرُهُ .

Sayyiduna Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Shaytan has a kohl and he has something to lick. When a person applies some of his kohl, it diverts him from the prayer (that is, the person stays asleep at the time of prayer); and when a person licks some of what he gives to lick, his tongue becomes sharp in evil."
Al-Bazzar recorded it with two chains, the narrators of one of which are the narrators of the Sahih, except for Sa'id bin Bashir: Shu'bah and others declared him thiqah (trustworthy), while Yahya bin Ma'in and others declared him da'if (weak).
