عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ قَالَتْ : دَخَلَ عَلَيَّ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - فَقَالَ : " مَالِي أَرَاكَ مُرْتَثَّةً ؟ " . فَقُلْتُ : شَرِبْتُ دَوَاءً أَسْتَمْشِيَ بِهِ قَالَ : " وَمَا هُوَ ؟ " قُلْتُ : الشُّبْرُمُ ، قَالَ : " وَمَا لَكِ وَلِلشُّبْرُمِ ؟ فَإِنَّهُ حَارٌّ بَارٌّ ، عَلَيْكَ بِالسَّنَا وَالسَّنُّوتِ ، فَإِنَّ فِيهِمَا دَوَاءً مِنْ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ إِلَّا السَّامَ " فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ ، وَبَقِيَّتُهُ فِي الزِّينَةِ .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ مِنْ طَرِيقِ رُكَيْحُ بْنُ أَبِي عُبَيْدَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أُمِّهِ ، وَلَمْ أَعْرِفْهُمْ .

Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) relates: the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to my home and asked: Why is it that I see you weak? I said: I drank a medicine to loosen the bowels. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: What was it? I said: It was shubrum (a plant). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: What have you to do with shubrum? It is extremely hot. Make it your practice to use senna and sannut, for in these two there is a remedy for every disease except death. After this the narrator mentioned the full hadith; the remainder of this report will come in the chapter on adornment.
Al-Tabarani recorded it from Rukayh bin Abi Ubaydah, from his father, from his mother, and I do not know these people.
