Sayyidah Aishah al-Siddiqah (may Allah be pleased with her) relates: A woman came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and with her was a child whose nostrils were bleeding. The narrator relates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "Why do you distress your children? Why does a woman not take sea costus (qust bahri) and then put it into his nose? For in it there is a cure with respect to seven remedies (or: a cure for seven diseases), one of which is pleurisy (dhat al-janb)."
Al-Bazzar recorded it. Its chain contains al-Mas'udi, who is thiqah (trustworthy) but suffered from confusion in his memory. The remaining narrators of this report are thiqat (trustworthy).
