Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Busr reports the statement of his father, Sayyiduna Busr (may Allah be pleased with him): the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to them riding a mule, which we used to call a Syrian donkey. the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to them, and his Companions were with him. My mother got up and spread a velvet cloth for the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) over a mat that was in the house, and she began making it soft and comfortable for the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sat on it, the mat gave off a pleasant fragrance. Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Busr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: My father, Sayyiduna Busr (may Allah be pleased with him), placed dates before those men so that they might begin eating them, and he instructed my mother to prepare jashish (a dish of crushed wheat) for them. Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I was the one who did the serving for my mother and father, and my father stood attending to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and his Companions. When my mother had finished making the jashish, I carried it and placed it before those men, and they ate it. Then my father gave them fadikh (a drink made from dates) to drink. the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) drank it and then gave it to the person on his right to drink. When the drink in it was finished, I took that cup, filled it again, and brought it to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Give it to the person whom the cup had reached." When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) finished the food, he prayed for us, saying: "O Allah, forgive them, have mercy on them, and bless them in their provision." Since then we have continually seen abundance in provision from Allah Almighty. (Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: part of this is reported in the Sahih from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Busr (may Allah be pleased with him) himself, whereas this narration is reported from his father.
Imam al-Tabarani recorded this narration. Its chain contains a narrator who has not been named, and the hadith of its remaining narrators is hasan (good) or sahih (authentic).
