بَابٌ فِيمَنْ تَرَكَ الْخَمْرَ وَالْحَرِيرَ لِلَّهِ .
One who gives up wine and silk for the sake of Allah

عَنِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " مَنْ سَرَّهُ أَنْ يَسْقِيَهُ اللَّهُ الْخَمْرَةَ فِي الْآخِرَةِ ، فَلْيَتْرُكْهَا فِي الدُّنْيَا وَمَنْ سَرَّهُ أَنْ يَكْسُوَهُ اللَّهُ الْحَرِيرَ فِي الْآخِرَةِ ، فَلْيَتْرُكْهُ فِي الدُّنْيَا " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ عَنْ شَيْخِهِ الْمِقْدَامِ بْنِ دَاوُدَ وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِ ثِقَاتٌ .
وَقَدْ تَقَدَّمَ حَدِيثُ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ قَبْلَ هَذَا بِبَابٍ .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ عَنْ شَيْخِهِ الْمِقْدَامِ بْنِ دَاوُدَ وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِ ثِقَاتٌ .
وَقَدْ تَقَدَّمَ حَدِيثُ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ قَبْلَ هَذَا بِبَابٍ .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever wishes that Allah Almighty give him drink in the Hereafter should abandon wine in this world; and whoever wishes that Allah Almighty clothe him in silk in the Hereafter should abandon it in this world."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat from his teacher al-Miqdam bin Dawud, and he is da'if (weak); the remaining narrators of this narration are thiqat (trustworthy). One chapter before this, a hadith narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) has already passed.
