Abu al-Waddak narrates: Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) told me: On the occasion of the battle of Khaybar we took some captive women. We began practising withdrawal ('azl) with them, since we wanted to receive their ransom from their families. One of us said to the others: "You are doing this while the Messenger of Allah is among you? Go to him and ask him." So we came to him (the narrator is unsure; perhaps the words are:) we mentioned this to him, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whatever fluid a child is to be born from, when Allah Almighty has decreed it, it will certainly come to be." The narrator says: Then we passed by the cooking pots, which were boiling. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked us: "What meat is this?" We said: "It is donkey meat." He said: "Domestic or wild?" We said: "No, rather domestic." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Pour these pots out." The narrator says: So we poured them out, even though we were hungry and had a strong craving for (that meat). The narrator says: We were ordered to tie up the mouths of the waterskins. (Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: Of this narration, only the part about withdrawal is transmitted in the Sahih.
Ahmad recorded it, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih. Abu Ya'la recorded it in abridged form.
