Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When one of you visits his Muslim brother and he gives him something to eat, let him eat from his food and not ask about it; and if he gives him something to drink, let him drink from his drink and not ask about it."
Ahmad and al-Tabarani (in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat) recorded it. Its chain contains Muslim bin Khalid al-Zanji, whom the majority declared da'if (weak), though he has also been declared trustworthy. The rest of Ahmad's narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.
