Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Rawahah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: He returned from a journey and went to his wife. There was a lamp in the house, and someone was with his wife. He took hold of his sword, and his wife said: "Stay back! This is so-and-so, the woman who combs my hair." Then Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and told him about it, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade a man to go to his wife (on returning from a long journey) at night.
Ahmad recorded it, and Tabarani recorded it in abridged form. Its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih, except that the narrator Abu Salamah did not meet Sayyiduna Ibn Rawahah (may Allah be pleased with him).
