عَنْ أَبِي مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " الْخَالَةُ وَالِدَةٌ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَفِيهِ قَيْسُ بْنُ الرَّبِيعِ وَثَّقَهُ شُعْبَةُ وَالثَّوْرِيُّ ، وَضَعَّفَهُ جَمَاعَةٌ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِ ثِقَاتٌ .

Sayyiduna Abu Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The maternal aunt is a mother."
Al-Tabarani recorded it. Its chain contains Qays bin al-Rabi', whom Shu'bah and al-Thawri declared thiqah (trustworthy), while a group declared him da'if (weak). The rest of its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).
