Sayyidah Aishah al-Siddiqah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: My baggage was light, and it was on a strong camel, while the baggage of Sayyidah Safiyyah (may Allah be pleased with her) was heavy, and it was on a sluggish, weak camel, because of which the other riders were having difficulty moving along. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Move Aishah's baggage onto Safiyyah's camel, and move Safiyyah's baggage onto Aishah's camel, so that the riders can keep moving." Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) says: When I saw this, I said: "O servants of Allah! This Jewish woman has prevailed over us with the Messenger of Allah." Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) says: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Umm Abdullah! Your baggage is light and Safiyyah's baggage is heavy, because of which the riders are having difficulty moving, so we have moved her baggage onto your camel and moved your baggage onto her camel." Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) says: I said: "Do you not claim that you are the Messenger of Allah?" Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) says: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) smiled and said: "O Umm Abdullah! Are you in doubt about that?" Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) says: I asked: "Do you not say that you are the Messenger of Allah? Then why do you not act justly?" Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) heard me; there was sharpness in his temperament. He came towards me and slapped my face. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Abu Bakr! Hold back." He said: "O Messenger of Allah! Did you not hear what she said?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A woman overcome by jealousy cannot tell the bottom of the valley from its top (i.e. in a fit of jealousy one understands nothing)."
