Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 7659

Sayyidah Salma bint Qays (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: Along with some women of the Ansar, I gave the pledge of allegiance to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). She says: Among the pledges the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) took from us was that you will not deceive your husbands. She says: When we returned, we said: By Allah! If only we had asked the Messenger of Allah what is meant by deceiving our husbands (that would have been proper). She says: We went back and asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about it, and he said: That you give something from his wealth to someone as a present or a gift.
Ahmad recorded it. Its chain contains a narrator who is not named, and Ibn Ishaq, who is a mudallis.
