Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 7627

An elder narrates from his father: Sayyiduna Jarir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) complained to Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) about (the unpleasant situations) he faced from women. Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: We too find this. Sometimes, when I am about to go out for some need, that woman (that is, my wife) says: You are going to look at the girls of Banu so-and-so. At that, Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said to him: Has it not reached you that Sayyiduna Ibrahim (peace be upon him) complained to Allah Almighty about the sharpness of temper of Sayyidah Sarah (may Allah be pleased with her), and he was told: She was created from a rib, so live with her as she is, as long as you do not see anything wrong in her religion? Then Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: A great deal of knowledge has been packed between your ribs.
Al-Tabarani recorded it. Its chain contains two narrators who are not named. The rest of its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.
