وَعَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ بْنِ الْيَمَانِ أَنَّهُمْ كَانُوا يَتَحَدَّثُونَ فِي الْعَزْلِ فَسَمِعَهُمْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - فَخَرَجَ عَلَيْهِمْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - فَقَالَ : " إِنَّكُمْ لَتَفْعَلُونَهُ ؟ " قَالُوا : نَعَمْ . قَالَ : " أَوْلَمَ تَعْلَمُوا أَنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ لَمْ يَخْلُقْ نَسَمَةً هُوَ بَارِئُهَا إِلَّا وَهِيَ كَائِنَةٌ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَفِيهِ الْمُثَنَّى بْنُ الصَّبَّاحِ ، وَهُوَ مَتْرُوكٌ عِنْدَ الْجُمْهُورِ ، وَقَدْ وَثَّقَهُ ابْنُ مَعِينٍ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِ ثِقَاتٌ .

Sayyiduna Hudhayfah bin al-Yaman (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The people were talking about 'azl. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) heard their conversation, came out to them and said: Do you people do this? They said: Yes. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Do you not know that whatever soul Allah Almighty is to create will certainly come into being?
Al-Tabarani recorded it. Its chain contains al-Muthanna bin al-Sabbah, who is matruk (abandoned) according to the majority, though Yahya bin Ma'in declared him thiqah (trustworthy). The rest of its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).
