Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 7507

Maymun al-Kurdi narrates from his father: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "Whoever marries a woman for a dowry, small or large, while it is not in his heart to pay her right to her, deceives that woman; then he dies in that state, not having paid her right to her. On the Day of Resurrection, when he appears before Allah Almighty, he will be counted as a fornicator."
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Saghir and al-Mu'jam al-Awsat, and its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy). Some hadiths of this kind have already passed in the chapter on "Sales", in the chapter on "Debt".
