Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 7336

عَنْ مَعْقِلِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ قَالَ : لَمْ يَكُنْ شَيْءٌ أَحَبَّ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - مِنَ الْخَيْلِ ، ثُمَّ قَالَ [ اللَّهُمَّ ] عُقْرًا الْإِبِلُ النِّسَاءُ .
رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ .
Sayyiduna Ma'qil bin Yasar (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Nothing was more beloved to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) than horses. Then he said: "O Allah! I ask forgiveness; except that the matter of women is different."
Ahmad recorded it.
