Sayyiduna Abu Firas (may Allah be pleased with him), who belonged to the tribe of Aslam, narrates: One day the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Ask me about whatever you wish! A man said: O Messenger of Allah! Who is my father? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Your father is so-and-so — the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) mentioned the very man to whom that person was attributed. Another man asked him (peace and blessings be upon him): Will I go to Paradise? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: You will go to Paradise. Another man asked him (peace and blessings be upon him): Will I also go to Paradise? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: You will go to Hell! Then Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: We are pleased with Allah Almighty as Lord.
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.
