Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 7322

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: A man complained to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) of being single and said: "Should I not castrate myself?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him: "He is not one of us who castrates or has himself castrated. Rather, fast, and let the hair of your body grow."
Imam al-Tabarani recorded this narration; its chain contains a narrator, Mu'alla bin Hilal, who is matruk (abandoned).
