Sayyiduna Khawwat bin Jubayr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: A man died and made me the executor of his will. Among what he left in my charge were his umm walad (a slave woman who had borne him a child) and his free wife. Once there was a bitter exchange of words between that woman and the umm walad, and the woman said to her: "O worthless woman! Tomorrow you will be seized by your ear and sold in the market." I mentioned this to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "She will not be sold."
Imam al-Tabarani recorded this narration; its chain contains a narrator, Ibn Lahi'ah, and the hadith he narrates is hasan (good), though there is weakness in him; the remaining narrators of this narration are thiqat (trustworthy). Another hadith about the umm walad has already passed before this.
