Amrah narrates: Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) fell ill, and her illness became prolonged. A man who practised medicine came to Madinah. Sayyidah Aishah's (may Allah be pleased with her) nephews went and asked him about her illness. He said: "By Allah! From the condition you are describing of this lady, it seems that magic has been worked on her." The people said: "This lady is bewitched; a slave girl of hers has bewitched her." That slave girl said: "Yes! I wanted you to die so that I would be freed." The narrator says: That slave girl was a mudabbarah (due to be freed upon her owner's death). Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: "Sell her to someone who is the harshest master among the Arabs, and spend her price on (buying and freeing) a slave girl like her."
Imam Ahmad recorded this narration, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.
