Majma al-Zawaid 7266 — A slave of the enemy at war who flees

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: Any slave who came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) before his masters accepted Islam, he would declare him free. On the occasion of the Battle of Ta'if, he (peace and blessings be upon him) declared two men free.
