Book of Freeing Slaves
بَابٌ فِيمَنْ أَعْتَقَ رَقَبَةً مُؤْمِنَةً .
One who frees a believing slave

وَعَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - قَالَ : " مَنْ أَعْتَقَ رَقَبَةً لِلَّهِ أَعْتَقَ اللَّهُ بِكُلِّ عُضْوٍ مِنْهَا عُضْوًا مِنْهُ مِنَ النَّارِ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ وَالصَّغِيرِ ، وَفِيهِ زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ مَنْظُورٍ، وَقَدْ وُثِّقَ .

Sayyiduna Sahl bin Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) reports this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Whoever frees a slave for the sake of Allah Almighty, Allah Almighty frees, in exchange for each limb of (the freed slave), each limb of (the one who freed him) from Hell."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir and al-Mu'jam al-Saghir; its chain contains a narrator, Zakariyya bin Manzur, though he has been declared trustworthy.
