In one of his narrations the wording is: "Allah Almighty divided wickedness into seventy parts; He placed sixty-nine parts in the Berbers and one part in all the rest of the people." The chain of the first narration contains Abdullah bin Salih, the scribe of al-Layth; a group declared him da'if (weak) and a group declared him thiqah (trustworthy). The rest of its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy). Its chain also contains al-Muttalib bin Shu'ayb; Ibn Adi said: I have not seen any munkar (denounced) hadith from him except this hadith: "When the honoured man of a people comes to you, honour him."
