عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ - يَعْنِي ابْنَ مَسْعُودٍ - قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " تَعَلَّمُوا الْقُرْآنَ وَعَلِّمُوهُ النَّاسَ ، وَتَعَلَّمُوا الْعِلْمَ وَعَلِّمُوهُ النَّاسَ ، وَتَعَلَّمُوا الْفَرَائِضَ وَعَلِّمُوهَا النَّاسَ ، فَإِنِّي امْرُؤٌ مَقْبُوضٌ ، وَإِنَّ الْعِلْمَ سَيُقْبَضُ حَتَّى يَخْتَلِفَ الرَّجُلَانِ فِي الْفَرِيضَةِ لَا يَجِدَانِ مَنْ يُخْبِرُهُمَا " .
رَوَاهُ أَبُو يَعْلَى ، وَالْبَزَّارُ ، وَفِي إِسْنَادِهِ مَنْ لَمْ أَعْرِفْهُ .

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Acquire knowledge of the Qur'an and teach it to the people; acquire knowledge and teach it to the people; learn the science of inheritance and teach it to the people, for I am a man who will depart from this world, and knowledge will soon be taken away, until two men will differ about an inheritance share and will not find anyone to inform them (of the correct ruling)."
