Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 6890

Sayyiduna al-Miswar bin Makhramah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Whoever takes a hand-span of land (unlawfully) will be made to wear (a collar) of it from seven earths on the Day of Resurrection."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir; its chain contains Imran bin Aban al-Wasiti, whom Ibn Hibban declared thiqah (trustworthy) and a group declared da'if (weak).
