عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - قَالَ : " سَوُّوا بَيْنَ أَوْلَادِكُمْ فِي الْعَطِيَّةِ فَلَوْ كُنْتَ مُفَضِّلًا أَحَدًا لَفَضَّلْتُ النِّسَاءَ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ ، وَفِيهِ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ صَالِحٍ كَاتِبُ اللَّيْثِ قَالَ عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ شُعَيْبٍ : ثِقَةٌ مَأْمُونٌ وَرَفَعَ مِنْ شَأْنِهِ ، وَضَعَّفَهُ أَحْمَدُ ، وَغَيْرُهُ .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ ، وَفِيهِ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ صَالِحٍ كَاتِبُ اللَّيْثِ قَالَ عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ شُعَيْبٍ : ثِقَةٌ مَأْمُونٌ وَرَفَعَ مِنْ شَأْنِهِ ، وَضَعَّفَهُ أَحْمَدُ ، وَغَيْرُهُ .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) reports this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Keep equality among your children when giving gifts. If I were to favour (that is, give preference to) anyone, I would favour (that is, give preference to) women."
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir; its chain contains a narrator, Abdullah bin Salih, the scribe of al-Layth. Abd al-Malik bin Shu'ayb said: He is thiqah (trustworthy) and reliable, and he spoke highly of him; Imam Ahmad and others declared him da'if (weak).
