وَعَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - قَالَ : " الْهَدِيَّةُ إِلَى الْإِمَامِ غُلُولٌ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ ، وَفِيهِ يَمَانُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ .

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas also reports this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): A gift given to the ruler is treachery.
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains a narrator, Yaman bin Sa'id, who is da'if (weak).
