عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ : لَمَّا دَعَا نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - مُوسَى صَاحِبَهُ إِلَى الْأَجَلِ الَّذِي كَانَ بَيْنَهُمَا قَالَ لَهُ صَاحِبُهُ : كُلُّ شَاةٍ وَلَدَتْ عَلَى غَيْرِ لَوْنِهَا فَلَكَ وَلَدُهَا . قَالَ : فَعَمَدَ فَوَضَعَ حِبَالًا عَلَى الْمَاءِ فَلَمَّا رَأَتِ الْحِبَالَ فَزِعَتْ ، فَجَالَتْ جَوْلَةً ، فَوَلَدْنَ كُلُّهُنَّ بُرْقًا إِلَّا شَاةً وَاحِدَةً ، فَذَهَبَ بِأَوْلَادِهِنَّ ذَلِكَ الْعَامَ .
رَوَاهُ أَبُو يَعْلَى ، وَرِجَالُهُ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .

Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) states: When the Prophet of Allah, Sayyiduna Musa (peace be upon him), called his companion (perhaps Sayyiduna Shu'ayb (peace be upon him) is meant) to that particular term, and the matter was settled between them, his companion said: Every goat that gives birth to young of a colour different from its own, its young will be yours. The narrator states: So he set about it and placed ropes over the water. When they saw the ropes, they became frightened and began to run about, and all of them gave birth to spotted young (that is, with some black hairs among their white wool), except for one goat. So Sayyiduna Musa (peace be upon him) took all the offspring of those goats that year.
