عَنْ جَرِيرٍ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - قَالَ لِصَاحِبِ الْحَقِّ : " خُذْ حَقَّكَ فِي عَفَافٍ وَافٍ ، أَوْ غَيْرَ وَافٍ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ ، وَفِيهِ دَاوُدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْجَبَّارِ ، وَهُوَ مَتْرُوكٌ .

Sayyiduna Jarir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to a person who was owed a right: "Take your right with restraint (that is, in a decent manner), whether it is paid in full or not paid in full."
At-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir; its chain contains a narrator, Dawud bin Abd al-Jabbar, who is matruk (abandoned).
