Sayyiduna Abu Burdah bin Niyar (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: We were walking with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) towards "Baqi' al-Musalla". The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) put his blessed hand into some grain, then took it out, and it was adulterated (the narrator is unsure; perhaps the words are:) it was of mixed kinds. So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "He is not one of us who deceives us."
Ahmad and al-Tabarani (in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir and al-Mu'jam al-Awsat) recorded it, and al-Bazzar recorded it in abridged form. Its chain contains a narrator, Jumay' bin Umayr, whom Abu Hatim declared thiqah (trustworthy), while al-Bukhari (may Allah have mercy on him) and others called him da'if (weak).
