A man from Bal'adawiyyah says: My grandfather narrated to me: I went to Madinah and stopped by the valley. There were two men there with a single goat between them, and the buyer was saying to the seller: "Deal with me fairly in this sale." The narrator says: I said to myself: "That Hashimi man who has led people astray, is this him?" The narrator says: Meanwhile I looked, and he was a man of handsome build, with a broad forehead, a fine nose and thin eyebrows, and from the base of his throat down to his navel there was a line of black hair. He was wearing two worn garments. He came close to us and said: "Peace be upon you (al-salamu alaykum)." We returned his greeting. Shortly afterwards, when he called the buyer, the buyer said: "O Messenger of Allah! Tell him to deal with me fairly in this sale." He stretched out his hand and said: "You are the owners of your own wealth. I hope that when I appear before Allah Almighty on the Day of Resurrection, none of you will have any claim against me for a wrong I did him concerning wealth, life or honour, except what is by right. May Allah Almighty have mercy on a person who is easy-going when selling, easy-going when buying, easy-going when taking, easy-going when giving, easy-going when repaying and easy-going when demanding repayment." After this, the narrator mentioned the full hadith.
Abu Ya'la recorded it; its chain contains a narrator who is not named.
