Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 6308

عَنْ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " مِنْ فِقْهِ الرَّجُلِ رِفْقُهُ فِي مَعِيشَتِهِ " .
رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ ، وَفِيهِ أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ ، وَقَدِ اخْتَلَطَ .
Sayyiduna Abu al-Darda' (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Part of a man's understanding is that he adopts gentleness (moderation) in his livelihood."
Ahmad recorded it; its chain contains Abu Bakr bin Abi Maryam, whose memory had become confused (ikhtilat).
