Sayyiduna Ammar bin Yasir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "The lawful is clear and the unlawful is clear, and between the two are doubtful matters. Whoever guards himself against them protects his religion and his honour, and whoever falls into them is close to falling into major sins as well. His example is like one who grazes his animals around a sanctuary pasture and is about to enter the pasture itself. Every king has a private pasture, and the private pasture of Allah Almighty is the limits He has set."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir and al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains Musa bin Ubaydah al-Rabadhi, who is da'if (weak).
