Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 6290

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) says: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saw a date lying on the ground, picked it up and gave it to a beggar, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Had you not come to it, it would have come to you."
Al-Tabarani recorded it; its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy) and are the narrators of the Sahih, except Abdullah bin Ahmad, who is thiqah (trustworthy) and reliable.
