Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 6266

Sayyiduna Abu Ayyub al-Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever plants a sapling (or tree), Allah Almighty records for him a reward in proportion to the fruit that comes out of that tree."
Imam Ahmad recorded it; its chain contains a narrator, Abdullah bin Abd al-Aziz al-Laythi, whom Imam Malik and Sa'id bin Mansur declared thiqah (trustworthy), while a group called him da'if (weak); the remaining narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.
