Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 6265

Khallad bin al-Sa'ib reports from his father: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever plants a crop and a bird or any seeker of provision (a human, an animal or the like) eats something from it, that person receives (the reward of) charity."
Imam Ahmad and al-Tabarani in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir recorded it, and its chain is hasan (good).
