Wahb bin Kaysan narrates: My father passed by Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him). He asked: "Where are you going?" He replied: "To my sheep." Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "That is good. Wipe their noses, keep their resting place clean, and pray beside their resting place, for they are among the animals of Paradise. Keep close company with them, for I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: 'This is a land where little rain falls.'" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) meant Madinah.
Imam Ahmad recorded it, and al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat in abridged form; the narrators of Ahmad are the narrators of the Sahih.
