Majma al-Zawaid 6178 — The days of the wedding feast
عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - قَالَ : " طَعَامُ يَوْمٍ فِي الْعُرْسِ سُنَّةٌ ، وَطَعَامُ يَوْمَيْنِ فَضْلٌ ، وَطَعَامُ ثَلَاثَةِ أَيَّامٍ رِيَاءٌ وَسُمْعَةٌ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ ، وَفِيهِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْعَرْزَمِيُّ ، وَهُوَ مَتْرُوكٌ .

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Providing food on one day at a wedding is Sunnah, providing it for two days carries virtue, and providing it for three days is showing off and seeking fame."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir; its chain contains a narrator, Muhammad bin Abdullah al-Arzami, and he is matruk (abandoned).
