Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 6133

وَعَنْ عَائِشَةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - نَهَى عَنْ قَتْلِ حَيَّاتِ الْبُيُوتِ إِلَّا الْأَبْتَرَ ، وَذَا الطُّفْيَتَيْنِ ، فَإِنَّهُمَا يَخْطِفَانِ - أَوْ يَطْمِسَانِ - الْبَصَرَ ، وَيَطْرَحَانِ الْحَمْلَ مِنْ بُطُونِ النِّسَاءِ ، وَمَنْ تَرَكَهُمَا فَلَيْسَ مِنَّا .
رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ ، وَأَبُو يَعْلَى ، وَرِجَالُ أَحْمَدَ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ . قُلْتُ : هُوَ فِي الصَّحِيحِ بِاخْتِصَارٍ .
Sayyidah Aishah Siddiqah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade killing the snakes found in the house, except that the case is different for the short-tailed one and the one with two stripes, for these two destroy eyesight and cause the loss of the pregnancy in women's wombs. (The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:) Whoever leaves these two alone is not one of us."
Ahmad and Abu Ya'la recorded it; the narrators of Ahmad are the narrators of the Sahih. (Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say:
