Sayyidah Aishah Siddiqah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Kill every kind of snake! But the case is different for the short-tailed one that comes out in the house, and the one with two stripes on its back, for these two kill the child in its mother's womb and destroy eyesight. Whoever leaves these two alone is not one of us." (Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: Part of it is reported in the "Sahih".
Ahmad recorded it; its chain contains a narrator, Layth bin Abi Sulaym; he is thiqah (trustworthy), but he is a mudallis (one who conceals defects in the chain). The remaining narrators of this report are the narrators of the Sahih.
