Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 6125

Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reports this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Since we started war with snakes, we have not ended the war. Whoever sees any of them should kill it, for the Muslims among these snakes will not appear before you. Whoever leaves any of them alone out of fear is not one of us." (Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: Abu Dawud recorded this narration in abridged form.
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains a narrator, Abdullah bin Muhammad bin Ajlan, and he is da'if (weak).
