Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: A slave girl of Sayyiduna Abu Mas'ud Uqbah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) was grazing goats. One of the goats was about to die, so the slave girl broke off a piece of stone and slaughtered the goat with it. Then she brought it to Sayyiduna Uqbah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) and told him about it. He said: "Take it to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), just as you are." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked the woman: "Did you cut the jugular veins?" She replied: "Yes." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Anything that cuts the jugular veins, provided it is not a tooth or a nail (is permissible)."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir; its chain contains Ali bin Yazid, who is da'if (weak), though he has also been declared trustworthy.
