Majma al-Zawaid 6038 — What may be used for slaughtering

Sayyiduna Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Slaughter with anything that cuts the jugular veins, except for the tooth and the nail."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains Abdullah bin Khirash, whom Ibn Hibban declared thiqah (trustworthy), and he said: "He sometimes made mistakes." The majority declared him da'if (weak).
