وَعَنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - مَرَّ عَلَى نَفَرٍ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ يَرْمُونَ حَمَامَةً فَقَالَ : " لَا تَتَّخِذُوا الرُّوحَ غَرَضًا " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ ، وَالْكَبِيرِ ، وَإِسْنَادُهُ حَسَنٌ .

Sayyiduna al-Mughirah bin Shu'bah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by some of the Ansar who were shooting arrows at a pigeon, and he said: "Do not make any living creature a target."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat and al-Mu'jam al-Kabir, and its chain is hasan (good).
